- Elemental Temple Direction, Neophyte Ritual. Temple of Solomon the King., by Aleister Crowley. NOTE: For the Greater Pentagrams you are standing on the Path of Tau. This is different than where you would be standing for the Lesser Pentagram Ritual. Therefore, for the Greater Pentagrams, Earth is in the West (Malkuth), Air is in the East (Yesod), Fire is in the South (Netzach), and Water is in the West (Hod).

- Element Pentagram: The Golden Dawn, 6th Edition says to do the appropriate spirit pentagram followed by the element pentagram in all four directions. So for Mem, that would be passive spirit pentagram, and the water pentagram in all four directions. I am thinking this is because Mem is the Spirit of Neshamah. Versus the Ace of Cups which is the Yechidah of Briah. For the Tattvas, I am translating this as the Ace is Spirit of Water, but Mem is Water of Spirit. NOTE: The reason for doing all 4 directions (the long explanation) is that the Mother Letter Elements (Spirit) rule the Court Cards (4 Worlds). Therefore, Mem rules the 4 Queens. The Queens are Neshamah of each of the 4 worlds and Mem is the Spirit of them (the representation of the Neshamah within Adam Kadmon.) Each Queen is the water pentagram of a different direction. Another way to look at it is that Spirit is represented by the direction of the center. So by balancing all 4 directions, you are in essence, indirectly referring to the center.
